The smart living technology
application project, i236 project, is to create 2 smart living zones,
which are Smart Town and Intelligent Park, with innovative and sustainable
service/business models for 6 applications. System solutions with
emerging technology will be developed using 3 (or many) communication
networks such as Broadband networks, Digital-TV, and Sensor Networks
. |

The main goals of the project
are (1) To foster new industries through using living zones as domestic
markets to create associated new business opportunities ; and (2)
To apply IT/ICT technology to level up traditional industries, As
a whole, it is to maximize Taiwan industry global competitiveness. |

Smart Town & Intelligent Park, will be developing in next three
to four years. |

Origin
According to the 28th agenda of Science and Technology Advisory
Group ,Executive Yuan held in 2008, Taiwan should set up “Smart
Living Industrial Technology Promotion Strategy” to realize “Intelligent
Taiwan”.
Vision
Realize “Intelligent Taiwan” and encourage 6 “New Developing industries”.
Promote ”Smart Living Industrial Technology ” and “new innovative
services/business models” by living zone trials.
Specific goals
At least 20 kinds of new smart-living service will be developed.
One million people will experience or be involved these services.
Transforming service, enriching experience, and enabling eco-systems.

project is subordinate to Industrial Technology
Research Institute (ITRI) in Taiwan. ITRI has three mission
statements: firstly, to expedite the development of new industrial
technology; secondly, to aid in the process of upgrading industrial
technology techniques; and thirdly, to establish future industrial
technology. i236 project partnered with business industry, government
and research institute, including Ministry
of Economic Affairs, and Institute
for Information Industry (III). |
